TOP-PREVM: Preventive Maintenance

Scope: This procedure covers preventive maintenance (PM) of equipment.

Procedure:

2 Maintenance Manager After new equipment installation or major equipment repair or modification Part Inspection SheetPM Work Order, run chart (if any) Confirm with QC Supervisor that parts conform to specified requirements; if they do, obtain copies of Part Inspection Sheet and attach to PM Work Order; have Warehouse Administrator add PM Work Order into history file; if the parts do not conform, make necessary equipment adjustments to reduce problem
3 Maintenance Manager As determines need Own ideas, suggestions from others, manufacturer recommendations Establish and modify steps and time cycles for preventive maintenance by adding or changing master PM Work Orders in AMMS
4 Warehouse Administrator Weekly PM Work Orders produced by AMMS Send Preventive Maintenance (PM) Work Order automatically generated by AMMS to the Maintenance Manager
5 Maintenance Manager Weekly PM Work Order, own ideas Schedule preventive maintenance determined by PM Work Orders generated by AMMS. PM schedule is tracked by the Maintenance Manager for both the forge machine shop.
6 Warehouse Administrator Monthly PM Work Orders produced by AMMS Send PM Work Order automatically generated by AMMS to the Machine Shop maintenance nontechnical to record monthly run time on the CNC Machines; use monthly run time to predict due date of the 1500hour and 3000hour PM's on the CNC Machines. Run times are to be tracked and recorded on a weekly basis for monitoring.
7 Maintenance Technician Monthly PM Work Order indicates CNC hours will max out before next month's time to check run hours Hours remaining in each CNC Machine before 1500hour and 3000hour PM requirement; scheduled hours for CNC Machines to be run in the next week before next PM Work Order is issued to check hours run on CNC Machines Determine which CNC PM is to be scheduled; check with Machine Shop Production Scheduler for open dates to schedule the PM on individual CNC machines; coordinate with Warehouse Administrator to issue PM Work Order for individual CNC Machines which will be due 1500PM or 3000PM before next month's interval for checking run time hours. If unable to stop for production, detailed reasoning is to be recorded on the weekly hour tracking sheet. 
8 Maintenance Technician As determine need to delay required PM Work Order on individual CNC Machine (either specific step or whole Work Order)
Current production scheduling needs for customer's parts; Production Supervisor 's input for rescheduling the PM Submit approved rescheduling of PM in writing to Warehouse Administrator; forward rescheduling delays of more than two weeks to Manufacturing Manager for approval
9 Maintenance Worker As assigned PM Work Order plus plus any extra instructions from Leadman or Supervisor Performed tasks as assigned; mark work done on PM Work Order; add any notes regarding other work that is needed or regarding ways to improve the equipment or its operation; report any ideas for points that ought to be added to the PM Work Order (to Maintenance Supervisor or Maintenance Manager); tell appropriate supervisor when equipment is ready
10 Maintenance Manager As PM Work Orde returned PM Work Order plus own observations or tests Review any suggestions for improving Preventive Maintenance (PM) Work Order; return completed PM Work Order to Warehouse Administrator. Updated master schedule accordingly to track performed preventive maintenance for both forge and machine. 
11 Warehouse Administrator Weekly PM Work Order Enter info into AMMS;  close work orders that have been completed; if directed by Maintenance Manager update master PM Work Order; verify that any delays or cancellations have been done in compliance with this TOP and notify Manufacturing Manager of any infractions. File all completed work order from both forge and machine in the same location. Insure all documents have properly been scanned for a digital back up.  

NOTE: For maintenance scheduling purposes a "week" is defined as seven days or eighty hours of machine operation, whichever is longer.
