TOP-BRKDN: Breakdown Repair

Scope: This procedure covers the maintenance of equipment other than scheduled preventive maintenance. Primarily this involves breakdown repair, but also covers any unscheduled maintenance that might be undertaken to avoid an imminent breakdown.

priority of trouble call, who will handle it and when; if problem is
not going to be addressed immediately, inform requester of priority and
time frame; issue AMMS

to maintenance workers and/or verbal instructions

perform tasks as assigned; report to appropriate supervisor when
complete; report any other work that is needed, any ideas for improving
the equipment or its operation, or points that ought to be added to the

Leadman or Maintenance

); mark work
done on AMMS Work Order and return it to Maintenance

Temporary
repair is needed

Once a
temporary repair is merited and completed, issue a AMMS
Work Order;
have the AMMS Work Order show the date the temporary repair is
to be
replaced by the correct permanent repair; put equipment back in service
when repairs completed.

Evaluate
changes requested, verifying the proposed
changes meet safety standards and codes; document approval in
maintenance public folder and create plan of action for maintenance to
accomplish changes.

Initiate
modifications; perform tasks as assigned; report to appropriate
supervisor and Maintenance Engineer when complete; mark work done

Verify
work was done properly and will pass safety inspection; if approved,
return to Warehouse
Administrator (to enter then discard) completed AMMS Work Order with
notes that completed modifications met safety standards and
codes; place a copy of inspected AMMS Work Order in Maintenance
Public
Folder.
