Team member's role
and responsibilities:
- To lead and assume responsibility to carry out assigned tasks.
- To follow up on other maintenance employees to see that they have not become bogged down with a particular assignment.
- To
communicate effectively with Maintenance Supervisor and other shift
Leadman on current status of various job assignments.
- To identify hazardous situations and report them to supervisor.
- To
be an extension of Maintenance Supervisor in terms of seeing that the
proper priorities are being followed and that maintenance personnel are
being used efficiently.
- To train and assist other maintenance personnel with questions or tasks.
- To help carry out the mandate of maintaining a clean, safe working environment.
- To become familiar with TOPs Manual, especially those procedures that relate to the Maintenance Department.
Rookie requirements:
- At least three years’ extensive maintenance
experience; a good understanding of the company’s equipment in terms of
layout and characteristics.
- Familiarity with the use of a maintenance management program (e.g. MP2).
- Complete training module PMNT.
Physical activity
involved:
- Extensive walking, climbing on ladders and equipment
- Occasional need to work on top of platform or on top of hammers
- Arm strength required for pulling, pushing, gripping, etc. in manipulating working tools.
- Be able to lift 50 pounds; any lifting over 50 pounds use crane or hoist or ask for help.
