TFTP-PWLD: Production Welder

Coach(es): Machining Superintendent

Team member's role and responsibilities: 

• Use company tools and resources along with personal abilities to minimize down time of equipment in producing parts to customer's welding specifications and requirements 
• Exercise and develop good safety habits to avoid injury given the hazardous situations involved in maintenance work and production welding 
• Respond promptly to the various request for welding equipment, fabricating, die welding, and other equipment repairs 
• Work closely with Machining Superintendent or Leadman to receive instructions on the priority of jobs pending 
• Help maintain an orderly and clean welding area 
• Record heat codes, welding material and customer specifications on Process Log

Rookie requirements: 

• At least three years of welding experience in an industrial environment with some experience in TIG, MIG, Stickweld, and Carbon Arc 
• Complete training module WELD, TRAC, WLD1, WLD2, GRND, and MATE

Physical activity involved: 

• Extensive walking, standing, some lifting of equipment parts; some bending, twisting, reaching, pushing and pulling 
• Ability to withstand heat in summer and cold in winter 
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds; any lifting over 50 pounds use crane or hoist or ask for help.
