TFTP-PFMI: Magnetic Particle Inspector Level 2

Team member's role
and responsibilities:
- Have skills and knowledge to set up and
standardize equipment, conduct tests, interpret and evaluate for
acceptance or rejection.
- Be
capable of developing written instructions from approved general
procedures. such instructions will be approved by a Level 3.
- Separate defective parts for rework, grinding as needed and general housekeeping.
- Perform
grinding or any rework that is needed to ensure a part is salvaged and
that it still meets customer's requirements.
- Learn and follow safety rules.
- Fill out Magnetic Particle Inspection Log and Magnetic Particle Inspection Certifications.
- Become familiar with the TOPs Manual, especially those procedure that relate to this team position.
Rookie requirements:
- Pass written examination that meets the latest SNT-TC-1A that is administered by an NDE Level 3.
- Pass vision examination for near vision acuity (repeated annually).
- Complete minimum hours of practical experience to be considered for certification.
- Complete training in modules GRND, PRNT, COLD, PRTC, PFNH, TRAC and QCNH
- Complete forklift and crane training within 120 days.
- Ability to read basic blueprints
- Complete training on Defect Recognition
Physical activity
involved:
- Extensive periods of standing; moderate walking
- A
lot of stooping, pushing, pulling and lifting of forgings of to 50
pounds and some bending from the waist; any lifting over 50 pounds use
crane or hoist or ask for help.
- Conditions include: cold and hot weather, dust, noise, moving equipment and parts buggies and tubs.
