Team member's role
and responsibilities:
- Support programming of CNC machines as required.
- Develop manufacturing processes required to produce finished machined detail product meeting customer requirements.
- Design, model, and plan the manufacture of tooling and fixtures required for the production of machined detail parts.
- Assist
in set-up and first article production of first time runs as necessary
to proof manufacturing processes and tooling design.
- Focus
on maximizing CNC machine utilization and continue to look for and
implement new methods to increase productivity and efficiency of
operation.
- Evaluate existing machining processes to look for and implement new methods to increase production rates.
- Train
and develop employees in methods and procedures on how to maximize
efficiency and productivity while minimizing setup time, machine
downtime, insert or tooling failures.
- Support
machine department cost estimating activities through evaluation of
process approach, work holding requirements, and cycle time reviews as
necessary.
- Supervise the activities of machining personnel as required to accomplish first time part production.
- Ensure work is performed in a safe and timely fashion without jeopardizing the quality of each part.
Rookie requirements:
- High school diploma or GED and a minimum of five years experience in related field.
- Proficient in the use of PRO-E or equivalent software as it relates to manufacturing.
- Good communication skills; both verbal and written.
- Ability to communicate with and teach other employees.
- Complete modules: FSAT, GDTT, and PROG.
Physical activity
involved:
- Moderate amount of walking.
- Periodic physical exertion as required to setup CNC equipment and to demonstrate through example optimum methods of production.
