TFTP-WHLP: Shipping Helper

Team member's role
and responsibilities:
- Follow instructions of Leadman or supervisor in carrying out shipping assignments.
- Learn computer programs for shipping department.
- Ensure tags are correct on all containers and verify with prints.
- Learn and follow safety rules.
- Do
and learn whatever task is necessary to prepare parts for shipment
(tasks include inspecting parts; pulling parts in barrels, boxes, or
tubs). Also placing parts in boxes, barrels and tubs.
- Weigh, label, strap, unload and load parts on truck with assistance of a forklift, pallet jacks, or overhead crane.
- Work in other areas of the shop as needed; may require grinding parts, working inspection table or pulling carts.
Rookie requirements:
- Good math skills.
- Complete training modules WHSE, TRAC, TDNH, SPAP, SBCT, MHAN and forklift training within 120 days of employment.
Physical activity
involved:
- Extensive standing and walking from one end of the shop to the other 80% of the shift.
- Be
able to lift various parts weighing from a few ounces up to 50 pounds;
any lifting over 50 pounds use crane or hoist or ask for help.
- Bending and stooping and pulling out parts from boxes and barrels.
- Must have good vision to inspect parts for defects, cracks or flaws as instructed.
- Must
be ambidextrous to inspect parts, handle forklift, pallet jacks, scales
and have ability to build heavy cardboard boxes.
- Be able to handle hand held strapping gun.
- Must be able to withstand cold weather during the winter and hot weather during the spring and summer.
