TFTP-RHLP: Die Prep Helper

Coach(es): Die Shop Supervisor, Die Shop Leadman, or more experienced Die Prep Worker

Team member's role and responsibilities: 

• To facilitate transition from job to job by providing proper tooling and dies on a timely basis, accurate basis. 
• Learn computer program for department. 
• Follow Shop Schedule and anticipate dies that will be needed. 
• Retrieve from die stock the dies and trimming tooling that a scheduled job needs. 
• Stamp codes on die according to blue print. 
• Coordinate with co-worker and set up trimming presses and have them ready to go when hammer set-up is completed.
•  Retrieve old dies and tooling and make them ready for storage.

Rookie requirements: 

• Complete training modules PREP, DIST, DPNH, PRCP, TRAC, TLSU within 120 days of employment

Physical activity involved: 

• Be able to lift parts weighing from a few ounces to 50 pounds; any lifting over 50 pounds use crane or hoist or ask for help. 
• Extensive bending, walking, stooping. 
• Extensive use of upper body strength to tighten large nuts; handling large wrenches 80% of the time.
• Extensive pushing and pulling with both arms.
