TFTP-BMHD: Machining Material Handler

Coach(es): Machining Superintendent; Production Machine Supervisor

Team member's role and responsibilities: 

• Ensure the safe and proper handling of the various types of containers for transporting parts. 
• Be aware of personnel injury risks and not to compromise personal safety or that of other pedestrians in the work area. 
• Become an effective user of material handling equipment such as fork lifts and/or cranes. 
• Be aware of and anticipate material requirements. 
• Review and become familiar with the company's TOPs Manual, especially all TOPs related to this team position.

Rookie requirements: 

• High school graduate. 
• Some material handling experience and familiarity with fork lifts or overhead cranes/hoist. 
• Ability to keep accurate records. 
• Completion of fork lift and hoist/crane operation training within 90 days. 
• Complete training module FSAT, MATE, MHAN

Physical activity involved: 

• Extensive periods of sitting on fork lift truck. 
• Extensive walking, standing, bending; some upper body pushing. 
• Frequent lifting of 50 pounds; any lifting over 50 pounds use crane or hoist or ask for help.
