TFTP-BBUY: Machining Department Buyer

Team member's role and responsibilities: 

• Purchase all Maintenance, Repair, and Operational (MRO) supplies for the Machining Department. 
• Monitor all MRO inventory levels, assess lead times for all supplies, and assure that no shortages occur that could impact production. 
• Continually negotiate price and delivery terms with vendors to minimize the impact of MRO items on Machining Department profitability. 
• Review all receivers and invoices for accuracy. 
• Maintain all MRO expenditures to within budgetary guidelines. 
• Coordinate with the Forging Division in the selection of vendors and order points to receive volume discounts and maximize buying power.

Rookie requirements: 

• Good communication skills both verbal and written. 
• Windows-based computer skills to include Excel and Word.

Physical activity involved: 

• Extensive periods talking on the telephone. 
• Extensive sitting and working in front of a PC. 
• Some walking and climbing of stairs.
