Estimating Manager

The Estimating Manager will oversee a team of cost estimators to assist in the timely and accurate completion of cost proposals. The individual in this position would become familiar with a variety of engineering/manufacturing processes including forging, machining, die design and simulation using computer software. Trinity Forge and Machine will provide training on any of these processes that the applicant is not currently familiar with. The individual would also be responsible to understand and review machining processes, review and approve quotations and spearhead a variety of continuous improvement projects aimed to ensure the department runs efficiently. The Estimating Manager will also serve as the key liaison between the engineering team, the estimators, and the sales team.

Position Duties & Description

• Overseeing and leading a staff of employees responsible for pricing and other costing actions
• Leadership in the development of compliant, quality cost proposals.
• Ensuring the CRM software system is up-to-date to reflect the current status of pending RFQs (requests for quotes)
• Creating and analyzing reports for upper management
• Following established procedures and working on process improvements when needed
• Other duties as assigned

Desired Experience

• 5+ years working in forging, machining and/or a similar manufacturing environment
• 5+ years working in estimating
• PC proficiency required in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc).
• Advanced Excel skills are a plus.
• Working knowledge of MicroEstimator is a plus
• Ability to work well with others.
• Has an understanding of the application of pricing and costing principles, concepts, practices, and standards.
• Basic knowledge of General Accounting processes, procedures, and rules.
• Bachelor’s and/or Master’s Degree in Engineering, Finance, Business, Cost Accounting, Math or related field is a plus.
