TFTM-IHCC: Induction Heater Concepts & Controls

Taught by: Maintenance Man & Experienced Induction Heater Operators (Assigned by Respective Supervisors)

Objective: 
bullet Understand how induction heating and induction heaters work.
bullet Broadly understand how each of Trinity Forge’s induction heating units are operated.
bullet Understand in detail how to operate the induction heating unit the employee will work with the most.

Syllabus:
bullet Maintenance man telling how induction heating work in general.
bullet Maintenance man giving tour of all of company’s units, explaining the components of each one and how it should be operated
bullet Experienced induction heater operator telling in detail how to operate the particular unit the employee is expected to be assigned to most.
bullet Experienced induction heater operator demonstrating how to check studded billets for proper welding by hitting studs with a hammer and looking for separation.

Completion: Sign off by both teachers that employee understands the material presented and is ready to operate induction heaters under a closely-supervised basis.

Notes: Abbreviated step 2 needs to be repeated as new styles of induction heaters are introduced into plant.
