Hammermen and Utility Hammermen are responsible for the safety of the hammer crew members when forging parts, changing dies, moving dies, and repairing tooling at the hammers. | |
Hammermen and Utility Hammermen must make sure that the members of the hammer crew are working safely at all times. | |
They must also make sure that all crew members wear all of their personal protective equipment (PPE). | |
They must also make sure that all of the equipment at the hammer is operating in a safe manner. | |
If there are any safety violations or safety hazards, they must stop the hammer and report them to the Shop Supervisor. | |
They must also instruct all crew members to report any safety violations or safety hazards. | |
They should allow only certified forklift drivers to operate the forklifts. | |
Hammermen and Utility Hammermen must never allow any f their crew members to work on a hammer or any other kind of equipment that is unsafe. |
Completion: Sign off by teacher that the Hammermen and/or Utility Hammermen have been instructed and has a good understanding of the hammer crew member's safety.
