TFTM-DFCT: Defect Recognition

Objective: To instruct employees on recognizing various types of defective parts and understanding what causes these defects.

Syllabus:
bullet Describe and show visuals of different types of defective parts and their terminology
bullet Review each part and cause of defect
bullet Discuss hot inspection and adding shrink
bullet Discuss non-conforming parts- dimensional (using measuring tools)
bullet Review class discussion and quiz employee to identify some defects
bullet Assign experienced inspector to train employee on recognizing defects from different customer parts.
bullet Teacher will sign off on checklist for each defect the employee has shown competence in.
bullet Once employee has good understanding and recognizes various defective parts, teacher will give check list back to supervisor.
bullet Supervisor will test employee for recognition of defective parts.

Completion: Sign off by teacher that employee has been instructed and has a good understanding of defective parts.

Notes:   This class is designed for QC Inspectors, but can also be used to teach the forging department to recognize defective parts.
