TFTP-SAOP: Scan Arm Operator

Coach(es): Engineers, Engineering Assistant

Team member's role and responsibilities: 

• Use laser scan arm to scan dies, tooling, casts, parts, patterns, and equipment 
• Save scan files to network location 
• Move dies, tooling, casts, parts, patterns, and equipment from one area of the shop to another 
• Visually inspect dies, tooling, patterns, and equipment for defects such as cracks, pitting, and severe rusting 
• Maintain daily contact with Production Schedulxx regarding scan priorities 
• Maintain daily contact with Engineering Asisitant regarding completed scans

Rookie requirements: 

• High school graduate 
• Basic computer knowledge 
• Complete Faro Arm training module 
• Complete overhead crane operating training module

Physical activity involved: 

• Extensive periods of standing, walking, stooping, and reaching. 
• Repeated use of overhead crane. 
• Use of laptop computer. 
• Be able to lift parts weighing from a few ounces to 50 pounds; any lifting over 50 pounds use crane or hoist or ask for help.
