Die Shop Supervisor
Team member's role
and responsibilities:
- Be responsible to have tooling ready for production in a timely manner.
- Work
with Production Supervisor (Foreman) to have tooling taken from
production to die shop for repairs and then set back up when repairs
are completed.
- Make sure tooling storage is properly done.
- Get
the Tooling Supervisor or Production Supervisor involved in checking
tooling that he thinks may require rework or re-sinking.
- Train personnel in this department in stamping, storage, change overs, etc.
Rookie requirements:
- Basic knowledge in tooling set up.
- Experience in stamping dies and reading blue prints.
- Complete training of modules DIST, PREP, TLSU within 120 days.
Physical activity
involved:
- Be able to lift parts weighing from a few ounces
to 50 pounds; any lifting over 50 pounds use crane or hoist or ask for
help.
- Standing, stooping, bending, pulling and pushing on tooling.
- Turning dies over with a die bar.
