Definition: Program of continually creating an electronic image of the data stored on company server computers so that lost and historical information can be restored. The VP-Quality & Engineeering is responsible for review and approval of the system, as well as ensuring it is maintained.

Format: Complex system of computerized backup media.

Retention: Monthly backups are retained for a minimum of 18 months. At least one backup each year is to be preserved for a minimum of 40 years. Annual backups created prior to the current retention policy go back to xx/xx/xxxx.
